Buckhorn Creek Vineyard began with our purchase of 30 acres which lies a few hundred feet from the northwest shores of Kentucky Lake. This is a very popular area for tourism with multiple marinas, campgrounds, hotels, and local attractions.
We planted our first grapes in 2015 and today we harvest Chardonnay, Riesling, Cayuga, Cabernet Sauvignon, Baco Noir, St. Vincent and others. Our wines include dry and semi-sweet reds, and dry, semi-sweet whites and fruit wines.
One of our best selling wines is our Tornado Red, which is our Cabernet Sauvignon aged in Kentucky bourbon barrels. Stop by and visit us for a flight, glass or bottle of wine.

Types of wines:
We have added new wines to our inventory. They are delicious and offer a wonder compliment to your dinner or to a celebration. We are Kentucky Proud with a few of our wines. This means we grow, cultivate, harvest and produce some of our own grapes. These grapes are currently Riesling, Chardonnay, Cayuga. We also have grapes that are maturing and hope to harvest in a few years. These grapes are Baco Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Vignoles, and Vidal Blanc.

Tornado Red
Fortified Cabernet Wine Aged in Bourbon Barrels
On December 10, 2021, an F4 tornado devastated our community as BCV was already fermenting its Cabernet Sauvignon. Our Vineyard and winery survived the tornado and we decided to name this wine Tornado Red. Aged in bourbon barrels, this wine a delicious treat for bourbon and wine lovers. Cheers to our community.
Our Favorite Times:
Snip and Sip;
Harvest time is when our friends and community come together to help harvest Chardonnay and Riesling. We spent this time in Fellowship and enjoyment of the time with picking grapes and end with meal and sipping our wines.
Hosting;
We host groups for parties, meetings and celebrations of holidays as well as special times. We are currently building an event center to accommodate 100 people. Plan to open in this building in the future.
Community Events;
Buckhorn Creek Vineyard and Winery participates in several community events, Bluegrass BBQ and Brew in April in Grand Rivers, Ky and Artisan Market in November Grand Rivers, Ky.
